NCRF met Stakeholders to develop a Strategic Framework for Capacity building
National Community Radio Forum met with training providers and stakeholders in an effort to develop a Strategic Framework for Capacity Building in the Community Radio Sector. The following organisastions participated, ABC Ulwazi, Broadcast Training Institute, Bush Radio, Spark Strategic Development Services, MDDA, IAJ, Academy@Business, Nemisa and others have submitted input documents.
The NCRF identified the need to call its stakeholders to a round table workshop to discuss the development of a strategic framework for Capacity building for the community radio sector in South Africa. The strategic capacity building framework is aiming to improve the delivery of the existing training/service providers to community radio stations inline with agreed upon standards and a coordinated implementation mechanism. One of the key purposes of capacity building interventions within the community radio sector is to ensure sustainability of such radio stations. The mandate of the National Community Radio Forum (NCRF) is, amongst others, to facilitate and co-ordinate capacity building amongst its constituent members and the sector as a whole.
