The National IEC Campaign

The NCRF office has finalised an agreement with the National Independent Electoral Commission.

The NCRF office has finalised an agreement with the National IEC on nine capacity building workshops for community radio in all 9 provinces. The first of these workshops took place in Gauteng on 30 and 31 October 2008. 11 Community Radio Stations attended the workshop that was hosted by the Gauteng provincial IEC. The program looked at Civic and Voter education, Elections in SA, Democracy, Human Rights, Politics and other issues. At the end of the workshop the parties resolved that radio stations will engage the provincial office of the IEC to ensure that they maximise the messages of the IEC and voter education, the stations will also ensure that the IEC utilise stations on a long term basis.
